The downtown neighborhoods of Chicago paint a very similar picture to the rest of Cook County. Overall in the past year the number of closed sales has increased rather dramatically. Prices have also been increasing. It has been more prominent in the neighborhoods that dipped more greatly in the burst. Inventory remains at a historical low. It dropped substantially over the past year. However, an increase in closings and price tends to get sellers off the fence and on the market. These numbers seem to be moving towards a balance.
